The 1992 Cadillac Allante Base was introduced to compete in the convertible market. The Base is a member of a series of two trim levels for the Allante which include Base and Value Leader. The two-door car with its front-wheel drive is positioned to aggressively fill this niche for Cadillac. There is strong competition from vehicles from Honda.

Impressions of the Cadillac Allante for 1993

In 1993 Cadillac released the Allante Value Leader to the car-buying market. The Allante came in three configurations: Base, Indianapolis 500 Pace Car, and Value Leader. The Value Leader configuration is powered by the 4.6-liter eight-cylinder engine, which makes 21 highway miles and 14 city. The Allante competes in the Convertible market segment, in direct competition with Hyundai.

Standard equipment in the Allante for 1990 and 1991 includes the 4.5 liter engine by General Motors, weighing in at 8 cylinders and sixteen valves. A 4-speed Automatic Transaxle puts the power of the Cadillac engine to the pavement. The has proven to be a popular configuration for the Allante.
