The Ferrari F430 Base for 2007: Improving on 2006

A high point in the coupe market is the Ferrari F430. In 2007 Ferrari rolled out an upgraded version of the F430 with two versions: Base and Spider. Sales for the F430, especially the F430 Base, were brisk during 2007 and 2008. The improved reliability and the updated styling were responsible for the increased interest.

Standard equipment in the F430 for 2006 and 2007 includes the 4.3 liter engine by Ferrari, weighing in at 8 cylinders and thirty two valves. A 6-speed Standard Transaxle puts the power of the engine to the pavement. The has proven to be a popular configuration for the F430.

The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The F430 uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. Load balancing is provided by coil front springs and coil in the rear.

The F430 is 177.60 inches long, 75.70 inches wide, and 47.80 inches high. It has a wheelbase of 102.40 inches. It is able to seat 2 comfortably.

Pricing is a vital consideration when shopping for a car. The Ferrari F430 lists at $173,079 when new. The dealer cost on the car was an industry-low price. This price was average compared to the industry average price for a 2-door coupe.

Fuel Efficiency

The fuel system for the 2007 F430 is a traditional Bosch ME-7, running on gasoline fuel. The fuel is controlled by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The capacity of the fuel tank is 25.10 gallons.

The 2007 F430 gets 17 miles/gallon on the highway and only 12 – 13 in the city. This is below average for a coupe car.

The 2006 model began the promise of the Ferrari F430. The 2007 expanded on this success and has proven to be a strong seller in most markets. Even with strong competition from other manufacturers Ferrari hopes that the F430 Base will continue to be a profitable vehicle.
