The Ferrari F430 Scuderia for 2008: Improving on 2007

A high point in the coupe market is the Ferrari F430. In 2008 Ferrari rolled out an upgraded version of the F430 with three versions: Spider, Base, and Scuderia. Sales for the F430, especially the F430 Scuderia, were brisk during 2008 and 2009. The improved reliability and the updated styling were responsible for the increased interest.

Stop and Go

The restyled F430 Scuderia is equipped with a 4.3-liter eight-cylinder engine that utilizes 32 valves. The engine is mated to a Ferrari six-speed transaxle. This has resulted in an increase in horsepower and torque over the 2007 version.

The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The F430 uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. Load balancing is provided by coil front springs and coil in the rear.

The original manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) was an industry-low price when new, with a dealer invoice cost of an industry-low price. This price was in line with the industry average price for a 2-door Coupe.

Fuel Efficiency

The fuel system for the 2008 F430 is a Bosch ME-7 design, using gasoline fuel. The fuel flow is controlled by a electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The fuel capacity of the fuel tank is 12 gallons.

The F430 Scuderia received an fuel efficiency rating of 17 MPG driving in the city and 23 when it came to highway driving. The gas-powered F430 is a non-hybrid car.

Parting Shots

There are several reasons why the Ferrari F430 Scuderia sold well in 2008. Mainly the increase in availability and a marked improvement in quality meant the buying public was more apt to choose a Ferrari, specifically a F430.
