Acura NSX

One of the staples of the Coupe segment is the Acura NSX. In the previous model year debuted a brand new version of the NSX with one versions: T. Sales for the NSX, especially the NSX T, were brisk during 2002 and 2003. The improved vehicle quality and the modern styling were responsible for the boost in sales.

The NSX T is equipped with a Honda 3.0 liter six-cylinder engine that utilizes 24 valves. The VTEC engine is mated to a Honda 6-speed Transaxle. This configuration has proven to be a successful design for Acura.

The fuel system for the 2002 NSX is a PGM-FI design, running on gasoline fuel. The fuel flow is regulated by a electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The storage capacity of the fuel tank is 18.50 gallons.

The NSX uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The car uses coil and coil springs front and rear respectively.

The dimensions of the NSX T are 71.30 inches wide by 174.20 inches long. It sits a comfortable 46.10 inches off the ground. It seats a standard two passengers, with 2 doors. The wheelbase of 99.60 allows for limited leg room for the backseat passengers.

The listed retail price in 2002 (MSRP) was $89,000, with an invoice cost of an industry-average price. This price is slightly higher than the industry average price for a two-door Coupe.

The NSX T received a miles-per-gallon rating of seventeen in-city driving and twenty four when it came to long-distance. Being a gas-powered non-green car, this was subpar.

The vehicle is available in Berlina Black, Grand Prix White, Imola Orange Pearl, Long Beach Blue Pearl, New Formula Red, Silverstone Metallic, and Spa Yellow Pearl.

The standard warranty period for the NSX is 48 months, or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. The warranty also includes a warranty on the drivetrain for 48 months or 50,000 miles respectively. This is standard in the coupe market. Extended warranties are also available through the dealer.

Considering all factors the 2002 Acura NSX T was a rowsing. Acura responded to critisims about the 2001 NSX and made drastic changes. The result is better than the sum of its parts. Look for more from Acura along these lines in the future.
