Last Year’s Sedan: The 1997 Bentley Turbo R LWB
There have been several award-winning cars from Bentley over the years, including the Bentley Turbo R of 1997. There are one trim levels to the Turbo R, including LWB. The LWB version is one of the more popular options, outselling other configurations. Like in 1996 the popular 6.7 liter has made this a popular choice for sedan buyers nationwide.
1997 Bentley Turbo R LWB Specs
The restyled Turbo R LWB is equipped with a 6.7-liter eight-cylinder engine that utilizes 16 valves. The engine is mated to a General Motors four-speed transmission. This has resulted in an increase in horsepower and torque over the 1996 version.
The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The Turbo R uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. Load balancing is provided by coil front springs and coil in the rear.
The fuel system for the 1997 Turbo R is a traditional Zytek EMS3, running on gasoline fuel. The fuel is controlled by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The capacity of the fuel tank is 12 gallons.
