Our Review of the 2005 Chrysler Crossfire Limited

Frequently you will find that buyers of the Chrysler Crossfire are very excited about their new car. The Crossfire has held a place among the top of the Crossfire line of car for more than a decade. It is an important automobile, and the 2005 model is no different in that respect. The Chrysler Crossfire comes under the heading of coupe models that are suitable for families.

Performance

Chrysler Crossfire Engine Specs: The Crossfire Limited comes outfitted with a 3.2 liter, 6-cylinder motor that uses 18 valves. The engine, manufactured by Chrysler, is teamed up with a Chrysler 5-speed transmission. This arrangement has demonstrated to be an effective style for Chrysler.

The fuel system for the 2005 Crossfire is a SFI design, running on gasoline fuel. The fuel flow is regulated by a electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The storage capacity of the fuel tank is 15.90 gallons.

The Crossfire uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering gear-style configuration. The car uses coil and coil springs front and rear respectively.

The Crossfire is 159.80 inches long, 69.50 inches wide, and 51.80 inches high. It has a wheelbase of 94.50 inches. It is able to seat 2 comfortably.

The OEM suggested retail price (MSRP) was $38,195 when new. The dealer cost on the car was $35,276. This price was in line with the industry standard price for a 2-door Coupe.

A powertrain warranty is provided (70,000 miles/84 months), and a 36,000 mile, 36 month guarantee also comes with the Chrysler Crossfire.

Fuel Efficiency

The 2005 Crossfire gets 25 – 28 miles/gallon on the highway and only 17 – 21 in the city. This is average for a coupe car.

The 2004 model began the promise of the Chrysler Crossfire. The 2005 expanded on this success and has proven to be a strong seller in most markets. Even with strong competition from other manufacturers Chrysler hopes that the Crossfire Limited will continue to be a profitable vehicle.
