There have been several award-winning cars from Chevrolet over the years, including the Chevrolet Corvette of 1993. There are three trim levels to the Corvette, including 40th Anniversary Edition, Base, and ZR-1. The Base version is one of the more popular options, outselling other configurations. Like in 1992 the popular 5.7 liter Chevrolet has made this a popular choice for hatchback buyers nationwide.

The restyled Corvette Base is equipped with a 5.7-liter eight-cylinder engine that utilizes 16 valves. The Chevrolet engine is mated to a ZF six-speed transmission. This has resulted in an increase in horsepower and torque over the 1992 version.

The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The Corvette uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. Load balancing is provided by leaf front springs and leaf in the rear.

The fuel system for the 1993 Corvette is a traditional SFI, running on gasoline fuel. The fuel is controlled by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The capacity of the fuel tank is 20.00 gallons.

What We Think of the Chevrolet Corvette

In summation the 1993 Chevrolet Corvette Base was a great success. Chevrolet responded to critisims about the 1992 Corvette and made sweeping changes. The result is a great car and even better hatchback. Let’s hope the Chevrolet Corvette for 1993 is a sign of the future.
